250KW IN HAMPSHIRE

Acting as developer for this project, JBM was responsible for site origination, planning consent, securing a grid connection and securing the long-term land rights associated with ground-mounted solar farms.  Part of a family holding, this plot of land at Dean Farm had previously been used as a landfill for inert waste, making it ideal for solar development given its low agricultural value.  JBM signed an option to lease with the landowner and then secured planning consent from East Hampshire District Council and a grid connection offer from SSE.  The project rights were subsequently bought by a specialised renewable energy fund.  It is to be commissioned under the government’s stand-alone Feed-in-Tariff.
