ROOFTOP SOLAR – FOOD PROCESSING

JBM was engaged by an Italian food-processing company to deliver solar PV across a portfolio of roofs in London and Bedford.  From initial surveys through to installation, commissioning and FiT accreditation, JBM provided a turnkey service, handing over a portfolio of operational roofs to a satisfied customer.

Key challenges on this programme included working on curved roofs and an older building with asbestos content in the roof. In each instance, risk assessment and construction method statements were critical to ensure successful and safe implementation.

Phase 1 of the portfolio was delivered against the backdrop of impending severe tariff cuts in March 2012.  All projects in this phase were delivered on time, to budget and were accredited under the higher FiT tariff rate prior to the cut taking effect, all under extremely challenging timelines. Now with over five years of operational data, all installations have been performing above expectations.
